dreams

"True, I talk of dreams,
Which are the children of an idle brain,
Begot of nothing but vain fantasy."

Fantasies. What are they? Are they really just the result of an idle brain? A dream. A dream so sweet and comforting but alas it is but a figment of your imagination. Are we supposed to dream big?

These are all the thoughts of a truly idle mind. One that lacks imagination to go beyond the box.
But let me ask you this. if you assume that thinking outside the box requires thinking outside the ordinary. And everyone is encouraged to do this. Yes?

Lets assume that everybody would think outside the box, then wouldn't thinking outside the box become something ordinary and hence be placed back inside the box? Assuming the theory persists, then wouldn't thinking inside the box become thinking outside the box?

If this is true, then people are not meant to think outside the box, or it will end up as an unending paradox of inside, outside, inside and outside.

Perhaps that is why some people are paid to dream. Some people are paid to carry out these dreams.

You know, I think the most realistic dreamers out there are the designers. Be it buildings or cars, these people are paid to dream big and the best thing about it is that people carry out these dreams of theirs for them. At the end of the day, they get to tell their friends, or family, or children "that is my dream and my ambition and here it is in a tangible form"

It is actually a career path I've thought about for awhile. Even if i were to design the lowly Protons, I would still be able to say "hey, look! everyone is using my designs!" what an honour that would be.

But alas it is merely a dream for now. Maybe in the far future people would be driving around in one of my designs, but for now it is merely the child of an idle brain.

However, I believe all is not lost. If I do one day become a Lawyer, or a teacher, or a politician, would I not still be able to carry out my dreams? Instead of designing tangible objects, I can take part in designing the future for the next generation. Would that not be a grander dream?

Sigh.....................

At the end of the day, these are all mere dreams.
I can say it over and over again as many times as I want, but it won't come true unless I work for it. The bigger the dream, the more work it entails.....

Oh well....... it is a curse and a blessing i believe to have really really really really really big dreams

=D
